Best Practices for Zero Retaining Wall Failures - When to Analyze Global Stability

When a global stability analysis is required by the wall designer, then the owner should contract with a geotechnical engineer for overall site stability.
  •     If walls have slopes below or above
  •      Walls built in sites with clays, silts, poorly graded sands, expansive clays
  •     For walls where more than 50% of the Internal Compound Stability (ICS) slip arcs fall at the back of the wall design envelope when ICS is run in the Allan Block AB Walls Design Software.

Allan Block is working to achieve our industry initiative of Zero Wall Failures. With our Best Practices Manual and experience in the industry we are trying to expand the knowledge base for the design of segmental retaining walls (SRW's) by communicating and educating the professionals in the industry.  To see the full Best Practices Manual, visit allanblock.com to download today and keep an eye out for more industry Best Practice recommendations here.
