Appreciate Your Employer - Ideas for Boss's Day

Bosses come in all sizes and shapes. They can come across as thoughtful, aggressive, insightful, and quiet but every boss has qualities that can be celebrated. Many bosses choose to lead by example and work hard to create a friendly environment and reward  hard work and loyalty. A good boss is a person who may act as a mentor and a good listener.
The original concept of National Boss Day began back in the late 1950's by Patricia Bays Haroski, an employee at State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Illinois. Her purpose was to designate a day to show appreciation for her boss and other bosses. She also hoped to improve the relationship between employees and supervisors. So with Patricia in mind, we would like to give you some ideas on how to thank your boss on this special day:

  • A simple and sincerely card to thank them for their support and appreciation.
  • Present them with inspirational gifts or a token appreciation that is work appropriate.
  • Don't want to go it alone?  Rally your co-workers and get the boss a stylish and functional gift that will remind them how much you appreciate them.
  • Take them out to lunch - Get a group of coworkers together and take the boss to lunch.

Show your appreciation for their leadership, compassion, mentoring and support! So thank your boss today!
